The NiSi 100x100mm Neutral Density Filter IR ND4 – 2 Stops is a neutral density filter (ND) that evenly reduces the amount of light entering the lens. ND filters allow for greater motion blur and detail accuracy by permitting a large aperture and a slow shutter speed. They are also useful when the contrast between the lights and shadows is too great to achieve a high-quality exposure.
The ND4 2 Stops is used during the day outside of the golden hour, as the bright ambient light requires much more "light blocking." With the right settings, the exposure time can be extended by up to 5 minutes during the golden hour.
True-to-Life Color Reproduction
NiSi ND filters do not affect the color of the image, offer true-to-life color reproduction, and are made from high-quality optical glass with a high-quality patented multi-layer nano-coating to ensure no details are lost. Additionally, the coating protects the filter from scratches, dirt, oil, and water. The use of neutral density filters makes the camera susceptible to infrared light, which leads to unwanted red tones when shooting with a small aperture. NiSi ND filters have an infrared protection coating that eliminates infrared light through the lens and brings back the natural, true-to-life color.
The NiSi 100 mm filter system is excellent for cameras with lenses that have a standard filter thread from 49 mm to 95 mm.
